About Zach Caddy Photography

Hey, I’m Zach! I’m a Chicago-based photographer with a bleeding heart, a cinematic eye, and an inclusive spirit.

When it comes to your event, I want you and your guests to feel like your authentic selves—no stiff poses or fake moments. My work leans toward the "dark and moody" side, inspired by the cinematography of Roger Deakins and the rich textures of film photography.

I take a documentary/photojournalistic approach to events. Sure, I’ll grab some thoughtfully framed shots, but what I really love is capturing those organic, candid moments that give your event its energy and soul.

Whether it’s a concert, a market, a conference, or a special celebration, I’m there to document the real action—nothing staged, just pure, unfiltered moments.

It’s not just about the style of photography; it’s about creating an environment where everyone feels comfortable to be themselves. That’s when the magic happens, and that’s when I can start capturing those authentic moments that make your event unforgettable.

Staying Sustainable

Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword for me—it’s baked into how I live and work. I keep my gear setup light so I can take the CTA or ride my motorcycle to jobs whenever possible. Most of what I wear is secondhand, my camera gear is used, and I keep things digital as much as possible to cut down on printing and waste.

I’m also a political organizer, fighting for things like the Green New Deal because I believe real change on climate comes from collective action—and that extends to the way I run my business.

Partnering with the Green Event Alliance feels like a natural extension of all that. I want to connect with folks who care about their impact on the world and want the events they host to align with their values.

If you're planning an event that feels true to you and your values, let’s talk. I’d love to hear more about you and document what you’re putting together with the care it deserves.
